MySchool & Woolworths Play It Forward Terms and Conditions
The Woolworths & MySchool ‘Play It Forward’ competition is open to 600 MySchool primary schools in South Africa. Pre registration is compulsory for schools to participate. The competition is also open to all MySchool or linked Woolworths card holders.

Duration of competition:
The competition commences on 1 March 2010 and terminates on 31 May 2010 (“the competition period”).

School Grand Prize:  3 x R100,000 for School PLUS 3 x R50,000 to pay forward
Three qualifying primary or pre-primary schools which participate in the MySchool Programme stand a chance to win a prize of R100 000 each (“the Grand Prize”). Each winning school will also be allowed to nominate an under-resourced school or charity with the assistance of MySchool to receive R50 000.
To qualify, primary or pre-primary schools participating in the MySchool Programme must have registered for the competition by no later than 31January 2010 by completing the relevant registration form supplied to the schools by MySchool. Only the first 600 Schools to register (“the Qualifying Schools”) will qualify for the ‘Play It Forward’ competition.

School learners Weekly class Prizes:
Classes within the Qualifying Schools (“Qualifying Classes”) also stand a chance to win weekly prizes (“Weekly Prizes”) based on their weekly scores calculated in accordance with the formula described in clause ‘prize calculation’ below. The nature of the Weekly Prizes will vary from week to week.

School Grand Prize  and Weekly Class Prize Calculation
The Grand and Weekly Prizes will be awarded to the respective Qualifying Schools and Qualifying Classes that have earned the highest number of points during the competition period using the following formula:
Number of transactions X number of items bought X number of different Woolworths stores visited by registered card holders.

This will be calculated weekly per registered supporter and summed to determine the weekly and grand prize winners (i.e. points per qualifying class and qualifying school)
Class competition winners will be calculated based on data compiled on a weekly basis; where as the grand prize will be calculated on the entire promotion period. Points will not be back-dated, i.e. Supporters will raise points for qualifying classes from the date of their registration. We will not be able to back-date any data. A person that registers at any time after 1 March will be scoring points from that day only.
 
In the event of a tie between more than three of the highest scoring Qualifying School, the winner will be the Qualifying School that has the most number of active MySchool Cards or Linked Woolworths Cards. In the event of a tie between any Qualifying Classes, the principal of that school shall draw the winner in terms of a lucky draw. 

Supporter prizes – 5 x Nintendo Wii’s
Supporters of the MySchool Programme (“Supporters”) who hold a MySchool Card or Linked Woolworths Card may participate in the ‘Play It Forward’ competition by registering their card number to the unique class they wish to support. Each qualifying class has a unique class code. The supporter may also choose to register to support the MySchool SA Street Children’s fund.   See more on MySchool SA Street Children’s fund on www.playitforward.co.za. Draw date is 20 June 2010. 5 names will be randomly drawn from the registered pool of supporters.
 
Supporter Registration
To register Supporters (“Qualifying Supporters”) must register. They can do so online at www.playitforward.co.za, or call 0860 100 445 during office hours or send an SMS with the word PLAY + the unique class code + MySchool card or linked Woolworths card number to 31155 (standard SMS charges apply).
Then swipe your MySchool Card or Linked Woolworths Card with every purchase at any Woolworths store (excluding any Engen store or online Woolworths purchases) to raise points.

Allocation of MySchool funds for the Promotion Period
For the duration of the campaign all registered supporter’s MySchool funds, raised at any MySchool partner store, will go towards the Play It Forward school they have registered to support for purposes of the competition. After the competition period each supporter’s chosen beneficiary will be reinstated to the beneficiary selected before registering for the competition.

Learner Prizes: Trickstar ‘show us your football tricks’  x 5 winners
First Prize:  win 1 x Play It Forward signed ball, signed shirt, 1x Samsung cell phone, R1,500 Woolies gift card + R1,000 kalahari.net gift voucher. 
First prize will be determined by the learner with the top voted score on www.playitforward.co.za for Trickstar, show us your moves video. He/she must be a learner at one of the registered Play It Forward schools and a SA resident.
2nd, 3rd, and 4th place will win: 1 x Play It Forward signed ball, signed shirt, 1 x Samsung cell phone, R1,500 Woolies gift card.
2nd, 3rd and 4th place winner must be from Play It Forward registered school and a SA resident.
5th Place winner will win: 1 x Play It Forward signed ball, signed shirt, 1 Samsung cell phone, R1,500 Woolies gift card.  5th Place winner must be SA resident does not have to be at Play It Forward registered school.

Big 5 learner prizes x 5
First Prize:  stand a chance to win 1x Play It Forward signed ball, signed shirt, 1x Samsung cell phone, R1,500 Woolies gift card + R1,000 kalahari.net gift voucher. 
2nd, 3rd, and 4th and 5th place stand a chance to win: 1 x Play It Forward signed ball, signed shirt, 1 x Samsung cell phone, R1,500 Woolies gift card for being runners up.  Must be from Registered PLAY IT FORWARD school and SA resident.

Play It Forward Champion educator prizes
Three PLAY IT FORWARD educator stands a chance to win R1,500 gift cards each Plus Pamper Treatment to Value of R500.  This is awarded to top 3 educators for work done to achieve highest % increase in active card swiped from their school during 1 March to 31 May.

General Rules:

Abuse of your card will lead to disqualification from the Woolworths & MySchool “Play It Forward” competition. Abuse would include, but is not limited to, allowing other consumers to purchase their own items with your card, sharing your card number with non-card holders to use at till points, or any other actions which may be deemed as unfair or unreasonable

The Woolworths & MySchool ‘Play It Forward’ competition shall not be open to Woolworth’s employees and their family members including the employees and family members of the Woolworths and MySchool advertising and competitional agencies and distributors.
The judge’s decision shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The prizes  are not transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Winners agree to be photographed and permit the use of their respective names for publicity purposes.

The winners will be announced on 20 June 2010 and notified telephonically by 25 June 2010.
The in-house auditors of Woolworths will witness a fair calculation process and the judges’ decision shall be final.
In the event that any winner cannot be successfully contacted following all reasonable attempts to do so, Woolworths reserves the right to disqualify the winner from the competition and to nominate another winner in his or her stead.
By participating in Woolworths & MySchool ‘Play It Forward’ competition, the winners agree to release and hold Woolworths and any associated companies, their employees, directors, officers and agents, and their advertising and competition agencies harmless against any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this competition or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.

Woolworths and MySchool reserves the right to terminate or amend this competition immediately and without notice. In the event of such termination or amendments, the entrants and winners agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against Woolworths, its advertising and competition agencies, distributors and their respective employees.

Any reference to Woolworths in these terms and conditions shall be deemed to include reference to Woolworths (Pty) Ltd, Virtual Market Place (Pty) Ltd, Woolworths Financial Services (Pty) Ltd and any of their holding, associated, affiliated companies and subsidiaries.
